WOW THIS WILL BE THE SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD

Things are poppin in the political world.  Hold onto your hat folks.

Dede Scozzafava just suspended her race in the NY State  23rd district making Conservative Party candidate a virtual shoo in for the Congressional seed beating out the Democrat.  If Christie can keep his slim lead against Corzine in NJ and with McConnell in VA a hands down winner in that state I firmly believe this will be the shot heard round the world and definitely is a shot across the bow of both main parties in the nation.

How many times have we heard ow those crazy right wing nut job Tea Partiers and 912ers.  They will get tired they won't stand up to the power of the major parties.

Well boys and girls I think both parties are about to get a very rude awakening.  2010 is IMHO going to be a very very interesting election year.

Newt Gingrich as far as I am concerned signed his political death certificate with his statements against the Conservative Party candidate and his backing of loser Scozzafava.

Even Michael Steele has seen the light "sort of".although he had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the party.  He has no said that in 2010 he will back Doug Hoffman for Congress in the General election.  Good thing Michael because you will be left in the dust if you don't.  The NY State RNC also stepped up to the plate 2 days ago and put their backing behind Hoffman.

What will be interesting to watch is what the Obama administration has to say about these events after the election results are out on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

RINO Mike Nofs (R) has been endorsed by SEIU which should wake up the people of MI that they are going to have to Primary this guy in the mid term elections next year..

I think you may be on to something, Grandpa. There's still a chance Corzine may pull it out but that says more about the masochistic voters of New Jersey than it does about the appeal of conservatism. Why anyone would vote to grant more of their income to the state than to themselves is beyond me. If we could just fence in the Northeast and West Coast and tell the liberals in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota that there are high paying jobs available there that don't require any skills or brains, we could clean up the rest of the country pretty well.

I see the Republican who withdrew, Scozzafava, endorsed the Democrat running against her and there was some speculation that she would change parties after the election had she won. I haven't thought as much of Newt Gingrich since he wrapped his arms around AGW and I'm feeling even less affection since he endrosed Scuzzyfava, who is turning out to be a Democrat. Bipartisan has come to mean: Republicans acting like Democrats. A part of me wonders if this whole episode with Scuzzyfava wasn't an intentional fraud to deliver another Democratic House seat to Pelosi and Obama. Now that I've written it, I believe it is so. I hope the voters instead send Hoffman to make Pelosi's life miserable.

Funny I was of the same opinion that Scuzzy was nothing more than a Dem running on the Republican ticket and would make a change as soon as she won. Great minds run on the same track I guess.

This was the case considering what she did after quitting or she went for the Dems as a childish sour grapes move. Either way I don't see this helping her get elected to any office very soon in that area.

This morning the latest polls show Hoffman ahead by 5 points. I just pray we take all three races on the east coast. This will tell both parties we are done sitting by and taking the garbage they want to hand us for candidate from now on.

I'm praying. I also heard that the RNC contributed $900,000 to Scuzzy's campaign. How's that for shooting yourself in the foot?

I was watching Huckabee this weekend and Tom Delay said point blank if the Republicans don't get on the bandwagon they will be left in the dust by the conservatives because the people of this country have spoken to both parties in no uncertain terms. There have been almost 4 million pink slips delivered to Capitol Hill in the last month.

Things went pretty well for Republicans yesterday. In spite of that, I'd feel a lot more optimism if Hoffman had won in 23 NY. No matter how you spin it the 23rd has a long history of Republican support and should have been a hot bed of Tea Party sympathizers if not activists. Notwithstanding the blunders of the RNC and state Republicans, one would think Hoffman would have prevailed because of a general animus against the left. But the Democrat won and that worries me. I don't want to just beat these Marxists. I want to chase them out of politics forever. People who should have sensed the threat and reacted forcefully against it didn't. Why? They obviously don't get it and that's what's worrying me. How obvious does it have to be before this Republican district can see it and how many other districts will be just as oblivious?

When you consider the 23rd think about the fact that Hoffman was literally an unknown 3-4 weeks ago. HE came from behind and only lost by 3-4 pts. And not sure if you were really following this but even with the Dem winning it is better than Scoccafava because she was farther left than the Democrat. This also tells the Republicans that even if the race is lost to the Dems that the conservative movement will put in a spoiler if necessary to force the Republicans to vet true conservatives instead of RINOS so I see the 23rd as a win in a way. If Hoffman had come in to this 3 months ago instead of 3 weeks ago he would have won. Also I was told that ACORN and SEIU was up there strong arming votes to the polls so there may have been some hanky panky going on too but we may not ever hear for sure.

I hope you're right but it still troubles me that the kind of citizen politician the Tea Party movement has been advocating for took it on the chin. Looks like congress is going to re-fund ACORN and hope nobody notices. If we had any more people with their hand out, I would think there is no hope for us.
